Lucerne, bringing it all together, mountains, water, and architecture

After a beautiful train ride, we arrived at our final destination, Lucerne, Switzerland. It is lovely here. We walked along the lake and across the local river going over interesting, covered bridges. The bridges were originally built in the 14th and 16th centuries. They feature paintings from the 17th century. The 16th century bridge is known for its Dance of Death paintings. They are pretty creepy and include skeletons.

We spent the afternoon walking around old town and taking in the scenery. The lake, mountains, and architecture are all beautiful We fit in a couple of churches including a Jesuit Church from the 1600s which is probably one of the prettiest we've seen so far. The details are amazing.

We took a stroll before dinner and took a few more pictures. We ended up having dinner right next to the water. I love being next to the water, but we were right next to the dam, and the rushing water made me a bit nervous. It was a pretty magical experience in spite of that.
