Bus, cable cars, and a catamaran
Our last full day of the trip was indeed a full day. Our first adventure was extended by about a half an hour because even though we got on the right bus, apparently it matters what direction the bus is going in. Fortunately, a nice woman was able to let us know our error and point us in the right direction. The upside is we got to see parts of the area we wouldn't have otherwise. Once we headed in the right direction we took 3 cable cars to the top of another mountain. We stopped part way up and had lunch. We ended up sitting with a very nice Indian gentleman from California. We have met the nicest people on this trip. That has been one of the highlights of the experience.
The third cable car was a bit terrifying. It was really steep. Once we reached the destination, we had the option of climbing about 100 steps to get an even higher view. We decided we were high enough. On our way down we shared a cable car with 2 young men who are competitive wrestlers. One was from Canada and the other from Switzerland. They are training together this week and hoping to compete in the Olympics.
When we returned to Lucerne, we caught a catamaran and went around Lake Lucerne for an hour. It was lovely.
We found a great place for dinner, on a quiet waterway. We sat next to a man who is originally from Tasmania but lives here now, and his friend from Australia. They were both very friendly and the Tasmanian fellow took our picture.
I can't believe this is our last night. It has been a fabulous trip. We have been so fortunate to have had so many great experiences.
