Bastille Market Day
Bastille Sunday Market has something for everyone. Jack purchased a scarf and I found a pretty little bracelet. It's been a little chilly and scarfs are very Parisian. I just liked the bracelet. We could have bought anything from squid to roses. We did pick up some fresh fruit, vegetables, cheese and ham. It is definitely an interesting place to people watch. They sell wine along with just about anything else you can think of, except maybe wine glasses. One woman was walking around the market drinking her wine right from the bottle. In fairness, she didn't have an option.
We haven't explored this area beyond the market, so we decided to do that today. From the market, we walked to a canal that connects with the Seine. It is lined with houseboats and must be an interesting place to live. We found a street lined with pastel-colored homes similar to Bermuda but with a Paris feel. We gradually made our way back to the Seine and our neighborhood. We stopped for ice cream and also picked up a baguette. These have become important staples to our diet along with cheese and croissants. We mixed things up going out to dinner and having escargot, onion soup and beef bourguignon. Kidding about mixing things up. We can worry about our cholesterol when we get home.

So beautiful!!
