This morning we took a gondola and a chair lift to Alpe di Siusi. This is a beautiful Alpine meadow surrounded by mountains. Most people hike, we walked a little but used other forms of transport to ascend the mountain. We were in the clouds for part of the time and amazed once again by the beauty we have encountered on this journey. The pictures don't capture the experience but I hope you can get the feel. Add in cow bells and the occasional smell of manure and you’ll get a sense of what our morning was like. Also, the predominant language we heard was German. This area draws a lot of German tourists, as does our hotel.
We picnicked before heading down to more level ground.
We made a brief stop in Ortisei on our way back to the hotel. They are famous for their woodworking.

Just catching up with your grand adventures! Looks beautiful in Alpe du susie. Reminds me of Switzerland. I want to hear all about Cortina. My dream is to go there for the 2026 Olympics.

Taking the gondola was a better choice. You could truly experience everything. Those mountains are massive.
