As I'm writing this in Lake Como, we have our balcony doors open and we can hear the conversations taking place below our room, all in Italian.  Out hotel has a restaurant on the ground floor. We also hear the church bells in the distance. There is some traffic noise mixed in but that is minimal at this time. The hotel is in the middle of Argegno which is a small village on the west side of Lake Como. We are about 25 minutes north of Como. This area is off the tourist track but conveniently located across the street from the ferry station. It isn't a fancy place but with that it isn't overrun with tourists. We definitely feel like we are in an Italian village which is fun.

We loved staying in Lake Garda but moved on this morning to Lake Como. We attempted a stop along the way in Bergamo for lunch. The northern part of town looked amazing but we didn't make it that far. We planned on stopping for lunch but we couldn't find parking, got frustrated, and got back on the highway. We ended up stopping at the Italian equivalent to a rest stop on the highway. We each ordered delicious sandwiches and were able to get back on the road pretty quickly. The rest stop is not geared towards tourists since nothing was in English. We made due and actually had a nice lunch.

We explored Argegno, which is a quiet old town, and got information on the ferries. We hope to explore Lake Como tomorrow by ferry.

We enjoyed a nice dinner at the hotel restaurant. The food was great and you can't beat the convenience. After dinner we had gelatos at a place around the corner. It was probably the best of the trip so far. So far so good with Argegno!
