The weather was better today so we found a different beach. This was a recommendation through a Croatia Facebook group and ended up to be within walking distance. We wouldn't have found it without the Facebook recommendation. As you'll see from the pictures the beach is beautiful. They had lounge chairs we rented so I didn't have to sit on the pebbles. For an extra 3 euros tip, we were able to get cushions. Since we packed lunch we figured we could splurge. We enjoyed a quiet afternoon with only a few other folks on the beach. One small group seemed to be German and a couple around our age, that may have been local, were also there. Apparently, swim tops are optional for women. The older woman opted not to wear hers. Andrew and Shannon this was a little different from when I accidently took you to South Beach. Her husband changed from his swimsuit into his shorts right on the beach. Another gentleman did the same thing yesterday so I guess it's an acceptable process, I have to admit to being a little surprised to look up and see bear bottoms on the beach. I do admire their comfort with their bodies and lack of embarrassment with letting it all hang out but, I don't see this as something that will be coming to the Jersey shore anytime soon. Jack and I opted to remain clothed.
I made dinner tonight. Even though we only have a Studio apartment, it's fully stocked. We ate on the balcony and enjoyed the view. After dinner we walked into the little town to get dessert and a beverage. The town of Stomorska is incredibly charming. It was established in the 1600s as a shipping port and today hosts multiple boats in it's harbor and has restaurants and a pub. We went to the pub and had crempita. It's a regional specialty that is a cross between custard and pudding between puff pastry. It was delicious. I also had another pear rakija to round out the evening.
I am including a couple of pictures of the home we are staying in. We have had limited conversations with our hosts since we don't speak Croatian. They try to speak English but we are never quite sure if they know what we're saying. They are very nice and obviously want us to be happy here. It's such a beautiful location it would be hard not to be happy.
