We took a boat tour today. I set an alarm which I haven't had to do in a while. It was definitely worth it. Here is what it included with pictures below: 

  • Start from the old town Kotor
  • Cruising to the Blue Cave 
  • Swimming inside/outside the Blue Cave-Our boat choose to swim outside the cave. The cave was crowded with other boats and swimmers. It didn't appear very safe. 
  • Panoramic view of island Mamula
  • Visiting Submarine tunnel which was used during WWII to hide submarines.
  • Panoramic view of island St.George
  • Visiting island Our Lady of the Rocks (20/30 minutes)
  • Panoramic view of old town Perast
  • Cruising back to the old town Kotor 
According to Jack the boat was probably traveling at @ 25 miles an hour. As some of you know, I don't deal well with recreational stress and going that fast on a boat would fall into that category. (John Jago, I am much more comfortable with the speed you go on your boat.) 
The setting was so beautiful I could make an exemption for this level of stress. We did stop at the local bakery after the trip and picked up some desserts recommended by the baker. That makes me happy and removes all anxiety,

We had more of our barbeque for lunch and went back to our favorite beach. All in all, another lovely day in Montenegro. (We are staying in Muo this week. It's on the outskirts of Kotor for anyone that cares.)

Buildings on the drive to the beach. Everything seems old and charming but the road is too narrow for two lanes making driving on it a bit stressful since it's a two way road.

 I can't believe this is our last day. We fly out early tomorrow morning so we are spending the night at a hotel near the airport that has a shuttle. It's a swanky old place We returned the rental car so the end feels real. I'll try to summarize everything after we get home and settled but the bottom line is this has been an amazing adventure. I am so happy I kept this blog so we'll be able to go through it and remember everything we've done. It is a bit of a blur right now.  I do remember what we did today. We started with a nice breakfast at our hotel in Argegno and then drove to Cernobbio. This is a lovely town on Lake Como that we passed on the way to the hotel.  Today we traveled to Kotor. The journey included amazing views which made our day. We traveled through the mountain area to experience something different. we achieved that goal. Jack liked the drive enjoying all the switchbacks, crazy turns and dangerous narrow roads. I was mostly okay with it. I was terrified at times but the views were amazing. I captured some of it but the pictures do not do it justice. Our room is great but includes an incline and about 80 steps. We should be in much better shape at the end of this trip, or in the hospital. There is a swimming entry to the bay at the end of our driveway.  We made it! We are in Montenegro. The flight was delayed about a half an hour but that wasn't a problem. There was a baby screaming for about half the trip but I felt more sorry for the parents and people sitting near it than us. Neither Jack nor I got more than an hour's worth of sleep. First lesson of the trip is don't fly Basic Economy on an over-night flight. We were so cramped it was impossible to get comfortable enough to sleep. You know it was bad if Jack didn't sleep. Getting the rental at the airport went vey smoothly and we were off. Jack was a trouper and handled the driving and navigation beautifully. I was completely useless and ended up with a migraine that resulted in frequent stops along the way. Aside from that, the travel itself was as good as we could have asked. We were through the border in less then half an hour. I had read it could take hours. We connected with the car ferry seemlessly, and were on our way through the windy mountain roads. Not id...
