The power was out this morning. This happened the other day as well because of work being completed on the lines. The only thing it interfered with was our morning coffee. We stopped for some on the way to the beach. Since their power was out as well the options were Turkish or Nescafe. We opted for Turkish. Jack asked for a double and the waiter laughed and said no, no, no. Every now and then our lack of understanding shows through.
It was a beautiful day today. We spent most of it on our new favorite spot, Africa Beach. The only other people there were the folks from Germany that were there yesterday, and they kept their clothes on the whole time. I apologize in advance for all the pictures today. I'm trying to capture the beauty of this place and the camera, maybe because it's my phone, just isn't doing it. The color and clarity of the water is beyond words. The mountains meeting the clouds on top and the water on the bottom is not something we typically get to see.
We packed lunch so we splurged again on chairs. They cost 10 euros a day which is well worth it if I don't have to sit on rocks. We went out for a nice dinner Jack ordered pasta with truffles and I ordered a local beef dish. Both were delicious. We sat across from a local family who interacted with people as they walked by the restaurant. The tables were on a covered terrace close to the street. You can tell you are in a good restaurant when the locals eat there.
Our original plan was to visit other islands during our stay in Solta. We love it so much here we decided to stay put. We'll probably go back to Africa Beach tomorrow and repeat another wonderful beach day if we can. And yes, we do realize how incredibly lucky we are to be having this experience. We mention to each other frequently!
We chatted a bit with our hosts and found out what we thought were limes are actually lemons that aren't ripe yet. At least we think that's what we talked about. They also grow limes and several were given to Jack. We have a juicer (old fashioned kind) and Jack said he was going to make drinks with the lime juice.
We had many cat sightings on all of our walks and I tried to capture a few.

You can't see the water line because the water is so clear. We use water shoes and would never be able to walk comfortably without them here.
