We enjoyed another day at the beach. We've been in Stomorska, Croatia a little less then a week and we feel at home here. The setting is definitely low key and the part of the town we've mainly been in consists of about half a mile. We've seen the same shop keepers and restaurant folks almost every day. There are a lot of others that have visited, mainly people coming off boats in the harbor but it seems like we have become part of the community. That is only in our minds, but we're good with that.
Jack corrected me on part of yesterday's post. One of our new friends from Germany who shared the beach with us, did change on the beach when I wasn't looking. Today a young lady switched bikinis multiple times. One bathing suit was for swimming and one was for when she got out of the water. At least that's what it seemed like. She tried to be a little discreet but it didn't really work.
I think I've swam more in the past few days than I have in the past few years. The water is lovely. I kept the same suit on for swimming and sitting out of the water in case you were wondering. Jack chatted with the folks from Germany when I was swimming. He learned that they own a place here and vacation here frequently. We also spoke with a woman from Belgium who is staying here for a month and working remotely.
We had dinner in and walked to town for dessert. There is a pub we like that makes great cheesecake. I've try to get a piece for the past two days but it wasn't ready. They had 2 on display but they need to sit for 2 days before they can put on the topping and open the spring pan. It was worth the wait.
Today I'm posting assorted pictures from our walks and time on the beach. I wish you could see it in person.

There are a number of lizards, this one cooperated for my picture. Most of them are in a hurry.

I'm happy it was worth the wait for the cheesecake but what happened to gelato? As far as seeing things in person - you are doing a great job bringing the sites to us through your words and pictures.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad I can share some of our experiences. We will be getting back to the gelato! All of the locals that came into this place were asking for the cheesecake. I figured I should trust their judgement and I wasn't disappointed.
ReplyDeleteLove living through your stories and pictures bits like being there. (Helen)
