It's been another lovely day. Just when we think the world can't get more beautiful we stumble across another part of paradise. Today we took a water taxi to the island of Vrnik for a whopping 8 euros a piece round trip. This island is about a 10-15 minute boat ride from Lumbarda, which is the town where we are staying. Jack got up at 3 am to watch the debate so we had to be sure that nap time would be an option at some point today. Along with the debate he saw some shooting stars from our balcony so all in all a successful night. .
Vrnik is a small rocky beach that has a few ruins sprinkled around along with a church or two. We did a brief walk around followed by a few hours on comfy beach chairs with swimming mixed in. A nap was also worked in so it was a wonderful afternoon. On the water taxi back we sat with a couple from New Zealand. There is quite an amazing mix of people in this area.
We went to dinner at Konoba Maha which was featured in an episode of Somebody Feed Phil. It's a show on Netflix the Jack and I really enjoy. https://www.philrosenthalworld.com/cities/croatia
We went for the Octopus Peka which had to be ordered a day in advance. It was really good but I don't think I could order it again. It is a very strange thing to eat but we thought we should go for something authentic to the region. The restaurant was set back quite a distance from the road and it had a very unique feel to it. We felt like we were in the middle of nowhere but it was only 12 minutes from where we are staying. The forecast for the next couple of days looks iffy so we'll see what tomorrow brings.

ReplyDeleteYou are really on a unique trip compared to most tourists (including myself). I'm so glad that you are sharing your experience :) Janine
ReplyDeleteI would definitely eat the octopus. Hey, my brother is on one of those yachts right now! ( Jean)
ReplyDeleteYou should just buy a bottle of ketsup and carry it with you😂. Great travels and pictures. You are really finding places. (Helen)
ReplyDeleteI did buy a bottle of ketchup, And it cost less than two packets! You are absolutely correct. From now on, I’ll travel with my own condiments!
