We are in Croatia. We made it through the border crossing very easily. It only took about 30 minutes. I had heard it could take hours depending on the traffic. The ride went smoothly and Jack enjoyed more mountainous winding roads. Our first stop was in Cavtat which is on the way to Dubrovnik. We would have been too early for check in and thought this would be a nice stop. It was beautiful. We walked around the seaside promenade, had lunch and of course a gelato. Our Air B&B host met us at the apartment and walked us around the area which was very helpful. Unfortunately, we are a little further from Dubrovnik than I thought so we will be walking off some of the gelato. After a little down time, we walked to Dubrovnik and took a cable car to the top of the mountain. The view was amazing and we were there for sunset. I have to admit that I think the sunsets at Normandy Beach Yacht Club are better.
We entered Dubrovnik's center and were blown away. It really is remarkable. Of course we didn't know what anything was but we are taking a tour tomorrow and I'm looking forward to learning about the area.
Border crossingPay toilets in Croatia, you pay a euro to go through the turnstile.

Cavtat, we wished we had our bathing suits
Lunch view, notice the 2 packets in front of Jack. You need to pay 50 cents in euros for each ketchup packet. As many of you know, Jack loves his ketchup. This could break the budget if it's a trend.

Wow. Everywhere you go there are stairs. You'll be on great shape when you return. (Helen)
