We had dinner out last night at a beautiful restaurant. The food was just okay but the view was amazing. Be warned if you order a shrimp dish it is not peeled which makes for a messy dinner. Jack was not thrilled. Unfortunately we got lost on the walk home. Normally this wouldn't be a big deal but it was all uphill, steep uphill, and instead of a difficult 20 minute walk it was a difficult almost an hour walk. We were sore and exhausted when we arrived back. Walking in flat NJ doesn't prepare us for this type of excursion. (Joette I need hills and stairs included in my training routine if I ever do this type of trip again) 

Today we went to Old Town Ulcinj. We must have climbed about 200 steps each way. Again we are not in shape for this but it was sooo worth it. The swim and the view were unbelievable. There were hardy any other people there. We had lunch overlooking the Adriatic and lounged for about 4 hours. It was so beautiful we thought we were going to be told it was a private setting and asked to leave. The walk there and back was very challenging and may explain why so few people venture there. I will post pictures of the public beach that is easily accessible and you'll see why we explored further.

Stairs we took by mistake. We were not happy when we got to the top and realized we went the wrong way. 





This is the beach we did not want to sit at with the crowded buildings in the background. First impressions are not ideal but when you venture out it's wonderful. These pictures are all from Ulcinj, Montenegro.

 I can't believe this is our last day. We fly out early tomorrow morning so we are spending the night at a hotel near the airport that has a shuttle. It's a swanky old place We returned the rental car so the end feels real. I'll try to summarize everything after we get home and settled but the bottom line is this has been an amazing adventure. I am so happy I kept this blog so we'll be able to go through it and remember everything we've done. It is a bit of a blur right now.  I do remember what we did today. We started with a nice breakfast at our hotel in Argegno and then drove to Cernobbio. This is a lovely town on Lake Como that we passed on the way to the hotel. It's very small but managed to fit in three churches. It was beautifully landscaped and is home to a very exclusive hotel we weren't able to get near, and some large villas.  Today we traveled to Kotor. The journey included amazing views which made our day. We traveled through the mountain area to experience something different. we achieved that goal. Jack liked the drive enjoying all the switchbacks, crazy turns and dangerous narrow roads. I was mostly okay with it. I was terrified at times but the views were amazing. I captured some of it but the pictures do not do it justice. Our room is great but includes an incline and about 80 steps. We should be in much better shape at the end of this trip, or in the hospital. There is a swimming entry to the bay at the end of our driveway.  We made it! We are in Montenegro. The flight was delayed about a half an hour but that wasn't a problem. There was a baby screaming for about half the trip but I felt more sorry for the parents and people sitting near it than us. Neither Jack nor I got more than an hour's worth of sleep. First lesson of the trip is don't fly Basic Economy on an over-night flight. We were so cramped it was impossible to get comfortable enough to sleep. You know it was bad if Jack didn't sleep. Getting the rental at the airport went vey smoothly and we were off. Jack was a trouper and handled the driving and navigation beautifully. I was completely useless and ended up with a migraine that resulted in frequent stops along the way. Aside from that, the travel itself was as good as we could have asked. We were through the border in less then half an hour. I had read it could take hours. We connected with the car ferry seemlessly, and were on our way through the windy mountain roads. Not id...
